Creating a club directory

QUESTION

Hello Kim. Our North Arkansas Woodcarvers Club wants to make a directory with photos and names of our 130 members. What program should we use to combine all the photos and text? Thanks!

ANSWER

Great question, Wally. I'll bet your woodcarving club is a lot of fun and has helped you make many great friends.

You can create a member directory the traditional way using Microsoft Word or Apple's Pages. If one of your members knows how to use a more sophisticated page-layout program, you can use Adobe's InDesign. Or grab Scribus, a free and powerful alternative.

But I'd rather see you take this project online, Wally. It'll be more fun and less work. All you'll need is a Web browser and a broadband Internet connection.
