April 23, 2012 New life for dead photos After a photo is printed in a newspaper, it goes into the "morgue file" to be kept for reference. This website borrows the name, but not the photos. morgueFile is a public image archive full of professional stock photos. Any of these pictures can be used and modified for personal or commercial use. Most stock photo services charge hefty fees for royalties. But morgueFile images are available free of charge without attribution. As long as you don't claim ownership or sell an image in its original state, you can use these sharp-looking shots to your heart's content.
