Design your own website

WYSIWYG Web editors allow you to create a website the same way you would write a text file. Place text, images or videos on the page and you're done. These methods are more user-friendly than mastering HTML and CSS.

Some popular WYSIWYG editors, like Adobe's Dreamweaver, can cost hundreds of dollars. You can save that money by using Amaya, a free WYSIWYG editor.

This program can create simple or complex websites. It doubles as a Web browser, so you always have a preview of what your site will look like online.

If you're creating a site for a particular purpose, such as a resume or a slideshow, Amaya offers several templates for you to work with.

By the way, have you ever wondered what WYSIWYG stands for? It's What You See Is What You Get. Now you know!

Cost: Free
Systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Mac OSX
